“Digital Skills for an Innovative East African Industry” (dSkills@EA) is a regional innovation hub that offers digital skills and capacity building relevant for the digital transformation of industries and society through academia and industry collaboration. The project aims at strengthening the employment and innovation-related digital skills of youth in the EAC and supports the industry’s and society’s digital transformation. The project is implemented by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the East African-German academic consortium that forms part of the Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA), led by the Nelson Mandela African Institution for Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and the University of Oldenburg.
Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA) offers full Scholarships for the Master Programme in “Embedded and Mobile Systems” (MSc EMoS) funded by Germany and administered through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Offers digital skills training that combines innovative research and international and regional academic collaboration with a commitment to producing digital products and services for industry and society. CENIT@EA e quips young professionals with digital skills relevant to strengthen their expertise in scaling digital innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
CENIT@EA shapes the digital pioneers of tomorrow and enhances solution-oriented thinking that supports young professionals to create digital innovations that boost the East African industry.
Provides strong linkage with the private and public sector geared towards closing the digital skills gap and upskilling for the industry’s need for digitalization.
